In opposition to common believes, a wooden house burns hardly more than another type, made of concrete or steel. The wood, after being harvested and dried, still contains water, which will evaporate during a fire before letting the wood burn. When burning, the wood creates charcoal protection, slowing down the spread of heat. The wood structure is still solid and will not collapse.

The wood comes from Nordic countries – Canada, Russia, Germany and their forests. We insist on using only Construction Grade Russian Pinewood and Canadian SPF (Spruce, Pine & Fir) for all our projects. Both these timbers are high-altitude pinewood, seasoned for 40-50 years in all seasons including snow and thereafter Kiln-Dried and dehydrated to create exceptional quality timber suitable for construction. Such forests are FSC certified to meet the sustainable needs of nature.

A wooden house does not need major maintenance after completion. However, punctual maintenance, careful attention to the house are necessary. The wood facade should be refreshed with new stain or paint after a few years to preserve its beautiful aspects. All the care methods and advice are provided by the company.

Wooden houses do not require expensive and complex foundations as compared to brick and mortar structures. The foundation can be as simple as a layer of PCC Platform with basic rubble UCR walls up to 2 feet height. The type of foundation is decided upon the site inspection by our team. In certain cases, an elevated foundation on concrete or wooden stilts may also be used.

Both Russian Pinewood & Canadian SPF, are completely waterproof construction grade timbers. Prefabricated houses walls are not water proof but have water resistant Nano coated wall panels. The roof provided comes with 25 years of warranty against leakage and colour fading.
